- Laminated Production (Premium / 3T Clear Acrylic) If you're thinking, "My precious print must NEVER get scratched!"—lamination is the absolute way to go. This is a double-sided bonding method where the print is sandwiched and pressed between two layers of acrylic. Since the printed surface never comes into direct contact with your hands, the risk of damage is virtually zero. It has a heavy, glossy, and luxurious feel, making it highly recommended when you want to drastically boost the commercial value of your product.
💡 3. 4 Pro-Tips from the ALL THAT PRINTING Crew for Zero-Defect Production
We’ve pinpointed the most common mistakes made by first-time designers. Just follow these rules, and you won’t have to worry about getting a call from the factory about file errors!
- Tip 1: Check the Object Limit per Sheet Size! The number of assembly pieces (objects) you can fit into a single sheet depends on the size of the plate.
- Standard Type: For sizes 150×150mm or larger, up to 6 objects; for smaller sizes, up to 4 objects.
- Laminated Type: For sizes 140×140mm or larger, up to 6 objects; for smaller sizes, up to 4 objects. (Please note that the base piece counts as an object too, so don't forget to include it in your calculations!)
- Tip 2: Keep Line Thickness at 0.3mm or Above! If your design includes thin lines or intricate details like hair strands and facial expressions, the line thickness must be at least 0.3mm (based on Adobe Illustrator) to print cleanly. If it's thinner than this, the print might fade out or blur, so make sure to double-check.
- Tip 3: Actively Utilize White Printing! Acrylic is inherently a transparent material. Because of this, if you only apply color, it will turn out translucent. If you want your characters and props to look sharp and vivid, you need to apply "White Printing"—which means laying down a layer of white ink underneath the color. Conversely, if you want to create an effect like a glass window or water droplets, leaving the white layer out of those areas to make them transparent is a brilliant design choice!
- Tip 4: Align Your Layers Perfectly! When creating the file yourself, you need to separate the cutlines, the white layer, and the design color layer. The position and orientation of the objects in each layer must overlap perfectly with zero deviation (not even 1mm) to ensure the print doesn't shift. Don't forget to create your original file in AI (Illustrator) and submit it in PDF format when saving the final version!
